Stepping Into Second Grade with Ms. Walker

Hi my name is Brittany Walker and I plan on teaching second grade. My classroom teaching style will be hands on learning. I will have learning activities for my students because learning should be fun. Students learn better and are more attentive when they are excited. Educational games and activities will play a large part in my second grade classroom. Students will learn the many ways to learn and how to be an effective student while being in my class. They will later be able to say that Ms. Walker taught them like no other teacher has or ever will.

Pull Out the Leap Frog...We're Feeling Froggy

As I stated before, I will incorporate educational learning games and tools into the classroom. Let's be honest, learning can be boring at times. This is especially true when you are in lower elementary and want to go outside and play. I want my students to be excited and enthused to learn. I will do this by having educational games on the computers and selected Leap Frog® devices in the classroom that will be used. I will also have educational games that the students can play together as a class that does not require equipment or technology. During activity time, the students will break up into their own sections and choose an educational game to play by themselves and later on play in groups. Educational games enhance the studetns learning and all the while, they are able to have fun.
