And What Did You Learn Today
I want my students to know and understand that their education is very important to me. Close to the end of each day, I will have my students gather at the front of the class and one by one they will tell me as well as the rest of the class what they learned that day. This is not to embarrass students, but a way of teaching. Students can understand their peers sometimes better than adults. If a student can explain what they have done then more than likely, they are learning. This also serves as a tool for students that do not understand something. If one of the students gets up in class and explains something that another student did not understand, then they may gain a better understanding from hearing it from another student.
